I
am wondering how other counties are handling the initial clothing
allowances.
We couldn’t find anything in statute that stated how the
process has to work. We have always reimbursed based upon the receipts
provided to our agency, up to the amount that was approved for the clothing
allowance. We currently are working with a facility that would like our
office to issue them a check, for the approved amount, and once the facility
receives the check the facility will take the child shopping.
Thank you

Brown Co only does reimb for actual purchased. We do not give allocations to facilities. There isn't an audit trail. We usually just state " for audit purposes..." etc etc. That usually ends further discussion.
Ottertail County only reimburses the foster home/facility from the receipts that are provided for actual purchases, and those have to be pre-authorized by the worker and supervisor.
Sherburne County requires receipts be provided before a clothing allowance is paid.
