Do anyone
have a process set up for helping CFC providers with initial daycare costs
before they receive their first check? We have a child placed last week
and the provider is in a panic about paying for daycare, to the point that we
might need to find another placement. What do other counties do to offset
this expense for the providers, if anything? Do you cut special checks or
tell the cfc provider to figure it out, checks are ran on XX date only.

Hi Jen,
Our Accounting Tech that works with CFC is out, so I went and talked to a Case Aide. Here at Itasca we take it case by case, and typically help provider's with initial expenses until their funds start rolling in. The Case Aide said we may directly pay for the initial day care up front. Again, case by case. She said the county directly paying for some initial expenses is common practice. I hope this helps a little.
